Job summary

Trane Technologies seeks a Traveling Data Center Field Service Engineer to support mission-critical cooling infrastructure across North America, focusing on startup, commissioning, maintenance, and emergency response. Extensive travel to data centers is required, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

You will diagnose complex HVAC and chiller systems, work with screw and centrifugal compressors, and coordinate with customer operations teams during deployments

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC technical training preferred.
• Minimum 5 years field HVAC/chiller service experience.
• EPA certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to travel extensively across North America.

Responsibilities

• Perform startup, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mission-critical cooling systems in data center environments.
• Diagnose and repair air- and water-cooled chillers and compressors.
• Respond to critical service events and customer emergencies in a timely, professional manner.
• Maintain complete service records and field reports with accuracy.
• Interface with building automation systems and related mechanical/electrical systems.
