Job summary

Trane Technologies is hiring a Field-based Data Center Technician to support mission-critical HVAC systems at customer sites. You will commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up advanced cooling systems, following design submittals and commissioning requirements.

You will collaborate with internal teams and customers, apply refrigerant handling and safety standards, and contribute to uptime by addressing mechanical and electrical issues while performing required maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of HVAC experience with systems-level knowledge.
• Technical school or formal training preferred.
• Clear understanding of refrigeration theory preferred.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Must have a valid driver's license for 12+ months with clean record.
• Ability to work in diverse, physically demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Startup chillers per design submittals and commissioning requirements.
• Troubleshoot chiller performance and operational issues (mechanical and electrical).
• Evacuate chillers and troubleshoot leaks.
• Refrigerant transfers and recordkeeping in reports.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on designated equipment.
• Coordinate with service leaders, PMs, engineers and customers for site requirements.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through diagnosing and repairing equipment at the site.
• Use cutting-edge software and hand-tools following specs to diagnose and repair units.
• Maintain safety and assist training for less experienced technicians.
• Log and safeguard company assets and equipment.
