Job summary
OBR Cooling Towers is seeking a Cooling Tower Tech to assist with construction, erection, installation, fabrication and repairs of cooling towers across the U.S. This role requires independent work without constant supervision, strict safety adherence and the ability to travel extensively as projects dictate.
Applicants should have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and OSHA 10 certification (preferred).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License/ID and reliable transportation
- OSHA 10 Certification preferred; OSHA training experience valued
- Experience in an industrial workplace or similar environment
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of mechanical equipment including motors, fans, gear boxes, drive shafts
- Read blueprints or building plans and liaise with Foreman for direction
- Assist with selecting lumber and materials for the job
- Prepare layouts with rulers, tape measures, framing square and calipers
- Mark cuts and assembly lines on materials
- Shape materials to prescribed measurements with saws, chisels, grinders
- Assist with piping and nozzle installation
- Erect framework and assist Foremen and Supervisors
- Work at heights with 100% fall protection and safety focus
- Perform other tasks as directed by supervision
