Job summary

OBR Cooling Towers is hiring a Cooling Tower Tech to support construction, erection, installation, fabrication and repairs of cooling towers across the United States. The role requires working with minimal supervision and traveling to project sites as needed to ensure project completion on time and to OBR quality standards.

The candidate will assist with mechanical installations, read plans, select materials, prepare layouts, and help with piping, framework erection and related tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License or ID Card with reliable transportation.
• Knowledge of safety standards via OSHA training/experience.
• Experience working in an industrial workplace.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and follow site procedures; stop work if unsafe.
• Assist installation of mechanical equipment (motors, fans, gear boxes, drive shafts).
• Read blueprints/building plans and liaise with Foreman for direction.
• Assist with selecting lumber and materials for the job.
• Prepare layout with rulers, tape measures, and framing square.
• Mark cuts and assembly lines on materials.
• Shape materials to prescribed measurements with saws and grinders.
• Assist with piping/nozzle installation and framework erection.
• Support with additional tasks as directed by supervision.
• Work at heights with 100% tie-off; comply with safety rules.
