Job summary

Veit in Austin, TX is seeking a Project Manager/Estimator to bid and secure construction projects and manage them from start to finish.

You will develop bids from plans and specs, coordinate pre-construction meetings, lead communications with project teams, and monitor scheduling, costs, and safety.

Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree with five years of experience, proficiency with Viewpoint Vista/HCSS and MS Office, and strong client relationship and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree; minimum of 5 years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency with Construction Bidding and Project Management software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). MS Teams is desirable but not required.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to present information to management, clients, and agencies.
• Ability to develop and nurture lasting client relationships.
• Knowledge of safety, EEO/DBE requirements and project compliance.

Responsibilities

• Bid and secure construction projects from start to finish.
• Manage contract work, scheduling, cost containment, and progress.
• Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential clients.
• Estimate projects for bid submittal by reviewing plans and specs.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings for awarded projects.
• Coordinate methods and staffing with operations.
• Obtain necessary permits and licensing.
• Manage costs by tracking labor, equipment, and materials.
• Ensure safety, budget and schedule alignment.
• Process and approve change orders; manage scope changes for profitability.
• Coordinate with project owner/general contractor for timely completion.
• Keep leadership informed on important matters.
• Travel to job sites as needed (approx. 10%).
• Support billing with Project Coordinators to ensure accurate invoicing.
