Job summary

Terracon seeks a Traveling Construction Materials Technician to join our field services team. This role requires 100% travel across multiple states to support transportation, commercial, wind-energy, and other projects, delivering quality testing and inspection services.

You will perform field testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel, communicate results to project managers, maintain equipment, and uphold strict safety practices on diverse job sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of relevant field testing experience.
• Experience with laptop use and Microsoft Word/Excel.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed per procedures.
• Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
• Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed.
• Maintains assigned equipment and related calibration.
• Follows safety rules and pre-task planning; reports safety issues.
