Job summary

Terracon is seeking a Traveling Construction Materials Technician to perform field testing, observation, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. This role requires 100% travel to projects nationwide, with up to long durations away from home.

Ideal candidates have ACI certifications, safety credentials, and the ability to communicate findings clearly. You will work on high-profile transportation and building projects, ensuring quality and safety across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% for extended periods.
• Experience with laptop use and MS Word/Excel.
• A valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed per procedures.
• Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
• Performs basic data analysis before submission to the Project Manager.
• Communicates information to Project Manager and team.
• Assists higher level technicians on complex tasks.
• Maintains equipment and calibration.
• Adheres to safety rules and project safety requirements.
• Maintains quality standards across projects.
• Able to work independently and in diverse teams across locations.
