Job summary

Terracon currently seeks a Traveling Construction Materials Technician who will perform testing and inspection across multiple high-profile projects nationwide, requiring 100% travel. You will work on transportation, commercial buildings, wind farms, and more, providing documentation and collaborating with engineers to ensure quality and compliance.

The role demands the ability to travel extensively, read construction drawings, and maintain equipment while upholding strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associates degree preferred in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology.
• Minimum 2-4 years’ experience as an Engineering Technician or similar.
• 1 year experience in construction inspection preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% and for extended periods.
• Flexibility for overtime, weekends, and extended shifts as project demands require.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection per training and procedures.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Prepare inspection reports and provide written documentation of observations and testing.
• Maintains equipment and calibration.
• Follows safety rules and practices and report safety issues to management.
• Collaborates with Project Manager and team to resolve issues.
