Job summary

Terracon is seeking a Traveling Construction Materials Technician based in the United States to support multiple high-profile projects nationwide. This role requires 100% travel throughout Michigan and neighboring states, conducting testing, inspection, and reporting on materials and construction quality.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of field inspection experience, appropriate certifications (NICET II in CMT and/or Geotechnical, ICC or AWS CWI), and the ability to read drawings and specs

Qualifications

• NICET II certifications in construction materials testing or geotechnical required or equivalent qualifications.
• Ability to travel up to 100% and for extended periods.
• Experience in construction inspection and quality control.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Safety-minded with strong written/verbal communication for reporting observations.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and procedures.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Draft inspection reports for review by senior inspector and Project Managers.
• Maintain equipment and calibration.
• Follow safety rules and pre-task planning; communicate safety issues to management.
• Ensure quality standards on all projects.
• Collaborate with project team across multiple locations.
