Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC is seeking an experienced traveling Assistant Superintendent to manage large-scale projects from our Nashville, TN office, with travel to project sites as required. The role emphasizes safety, coordination with owners, designers, and subcontractors, and meeting production and budget goals.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of construction experience, strong leadership, and the ability to read architectural/engineering drawings and reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; minimum of 5 years of relevant construction experience.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA and local, state, and federal regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to present information to management and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assists Superintendent with duties and coordinates management of construction projects with owner, designers, and subcontractors.
• Advocates safety as a top priority and enforces safety plans and policies.
• Develops production plans aligned with budget goals.
• Prepares project status, payroll, and compliance reports.
• Coordinates review of plans and shop drawings and procurement of tools/materials to meet schedule.
• Determines staffing levels and oversees HR processes for onsite personnel.
• Supervises subcontractors to ensure compliance with terms.
• Coordinates regulatory inspections.
