Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie in Nashville, TN is seeking an experienced traveling Assistant Superintendent to lead large-scale, multi-million dollar projects in the Industrial and Aerospace sectors. The role is based in our Nashville office, with travel to projects potentially outside Tennessee.

You will supervise field teams, coordinate with owners, designers, and subcontractors, and ensure safety, schedules, and budgets are maintained.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required; minimum of 5 years of relevant construction experience
• Healthcare experience preferred
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal rules, including OSHA
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal documents
• Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing with top management, owners, and outside entities
• Basic math skills
• Basic computer skills
• People management skills
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Assists Superintendent with duties as assigned by Superintendent or General Superintendent
• Enforces safety as the number one priority on the jobsite and ensures compliance with safety plans and regulations
• Supervises and coordinates management of construction projects with owner, designers, and subcontractors
• Develops and implements production plans with budget goals in mind
• Prepares or reviews project status reports and payroll documentation as needed
• Oversees review of plans and coordination of shop drawings
• Determines staffing levels and procurement of tools and materials
• Directs on-site personnel and HR processes for staffing and performance
• Ensures schedules are adhered to and coordinates subcontractors to meet terms
• Coordinates regulatory inspections
