Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for Structured Cabling. The role partners with the Project Manager from bid preparation through client acceptance and requires 100% travel on a rotational basis across the U.S. You will lead, coach, and mentor project team members with strong communication and integrity.

Responsibilities include cost control, coordinating scopes, reviewing payment docs, and subcontract management. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of related experience in construction projects.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Travel 100% required with rotation across U.S. sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost control and financial management.
• Work with Preconstruction on project estimate and schedule.
• Coordinate scopes of work and review pay applications and change orders.
• Lead subcontractor management and award subcontracts.
• Provide direction to the project team for safe and timely completion.
• Mentor and coach Field Engineer(s) and Project Engineer(s).
• Lead project buyout with subcontractors and trade partners.
