Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for Structured Cabling who will partner with the Project Manager from bid through client acceptance. The role requires leading and mentoring the team, strong communication, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment. Expect 100% travel across the U.S.

and regional site assignments. Ideal candidate has a construction-related degree and 5+ years of experience with robust knowledge of project cost control, contracts, and subcontract

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in construction-related field.
• 5+ years of related experience on complex projects.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office and project/web applications.
• Ability to travel 100% and manage multiple priorities.
• Detail-oriented with understanding of construction law and business practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost control and financial management.
• Work with Preconstruction on project estimate and schedule.
• Coordinate scopes of work; review pay apps and change orders.
• Draft client proposals and manage contracts.
• Award subcontracts and lead project buyout.
• Provide direction to project team for safe and timely completion.
• Mentor and coach project engineers; assign work and guide career development.
• Lead subcontractors and suppliers; facilitate coordination meetings.
• Perform on-site PM duties on small-scope projects and ensure quality.
