Construction Material Testing is seeking a trained 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners on concrete and industrial projects. You will capture data on site, verify completeness, and process scans into meshes and CAD-ready files using Artec Studio and related software.

You will report findings with maps, texts, and coordinates for client review. The role emphasizes field work, safety on active sites, and travel to regional hubs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating handheld 3D scanners on real projects.
• Proficient with Artec Studio for mesh cleanup and registration.
• Ability to read structural/fabrication drawings and use CAD data.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans on construction sites and plants.
• Control drift on large objects with reference features and overlaps.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, export formats.
• Produce deviation maps, reports, and anchor bolt coordinates versus drawings.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids for reverse engineering and fit-up checks.
• Document capture procedures and chain of custody for forensic matters.
• Keep scanner gear, batteries, and calibration records organized.
• Coordinate access, permits, and safety with site contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
