Job summary

Vestas seeks a Major Component Exchange/Repair Technician to lead or support exchanges across the Midwest region, ensuring minimal downtime and peak turbine performance. Traveling to sites, you’ll work on gearboxes, generators, and retrofits with a focus on safety and quality.

The role requires hands-on wind energy experience, a high school diploma or higher, and 100% travel readiness. Vestas offers training, PPE, and competitive pay with benefits.

Qualifications

• Must follow established safety protocols and identify hazards before work.
• Experience with wind turbines, plus hands-on MCE work preferred.
• Minimum 1 year wind technician experience, or 6 months plus Wind Tech cert, or 2 years related mechanical/electrical experience.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety for all site personnel and follow risk assessments.
• Perform major component exchanges (gearboxes, generators, etc.).
• Conduct maintenance, repairs, retrofits and design modifications per procedures.
• Travel extensively to support turbine operations across multiple sites.
• Collaborate with teams for safe, efficient, high-quality work.
• Conduct safety inspections and maintain a secure working environment.
