Job summary

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with open heart and Level I trauma experience for a hospital surgical services position.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years CVOR experience, NBSTSA certification, and BLS. The role includes a level I trauma CVOR assignment, exposure to CABG, valve, and aortic repair, and working with EPIC EMR in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years CVOR experience required.
BLS certification required (AHA or ARC only).
NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required; NCCT not accepted.
License required if applicable.
Open heart surgery experience required.
Level I trauma experience required.
Experience with cardiovascular procedures including CABG, aortic aneurysm repair, mitral valve replacement, and TAVR.
Experience with electrosurgical units.
Proficiency in aseptic technique, isolation precautions/PPE, sharps safety, and universal protocol/time out procedures.

Responsibilities

Level I trauma hospital CVOR unit.
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with consideration for 5x8 hour schedules.
Alternating days off with every 3rd or 4th weekend required (Friday 4:30 PM to Monday 6:00 AM).
On-call requirement of 1-2 days per week with a 30-minute response time.
Floating as needed.
Epic EMR experience required.
Care for cardiovascular surgical patients including those undergoing CABG, valve replacement, and aortic repair procedures.
Work in a tobacco and fragrance-free facility.
May care for COVID-19 patients.
Expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO between Christmas and New Year's.
Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract.
Holiday RTO cannot be guaranteed and should not be requested as part of the contract.
Local candidates accepted within a 50 mile radius at a reduced rate.
Candidates will undergo a clinical pre-screen followed by a manager interview before final placement.
