Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a CVOR Surgical Technologist with NBSTSA certification for a cardiovascular operating room position at a Level teaching hospital. This travel assignment requires at least 1 year CVOR experience and BLS, NBSTSA credential, and a compact state license if applicable.

You will support complex cardiac cases (CABG, TAVR, VAD, aneurysm repair) on a 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM day shift, 3x12s, with on-call 1-2 days per week and one weekend per month.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• Proficiency in aseptic technique, sterilization/disinfection, and universal protocol.
• Ability to scrub complex cardiac cases including CABG, TAVR, VAD, and aneurysm repair.

Responsibilities

• Support the CVOR with 1:1 patient care for complex cardiac cases.
• Work 3x12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Be available for on-call 1–2 days per week and 1 call weekend per month.
• Float between sister facilities may be required.
• Maintain compliance with universal protocol and time-out procedures.

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with NBSTSA certification for a cardiovascular operating room position in a Level teaching hospital setting.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of CVOR experience required
• BLS certification required
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
• Compact state license must be in hand at time of consideration, if applicable
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Ability to scrub complex cardiac cases including aortic aneurysm repair, CABG, TAVR, VAD, and endovascular procedures
• Proficiency in aseptic technique, sterilization/disinfection, and universal protocol (time out) procedures
• Knowledge of laser, radiation, and sharps safety protocols
• 2 professional references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required

Responsibilities

• Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) unit in a short-term acute care teaching hospital
• 1:1 patient ratio with complex cardiac case load including CABG, TAVR, VAD, and aortic aneurysm repair
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• On-call required 1-2 days per week plus 1 call weekend per month
• No floating between units required at this facility, though floating to sister facilities may be expected
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Scrubs provided for OR/Cath Lab; any color accepted elsewhere
• Support complex cardiovascular surgical cases including aortic, coronary, and valve procedures
• Assist with emergency management and fire safety protocols in the OR
• Perform specimen handling, labeling, and sterilization duties per protocol
• Maintain compliance with universal protocol and time-out procedures for all cases
• Candidates may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays
• Former Providence permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, subject to radius restrictions
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
