American Traveler is seeking a CVOR Surgical Technologist with cardiovascular scrub experience for a 13-week assignment in Hazard, KY. You will scrub for CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, VAD and aneurysm repairs in a cardiovascular OR, with a 7:00 AM–3:30 PM day shift, on-call and every-other-weekend duties.

Requirements include 2+ years CV scrub experience, AHA BLS, NCCT or AST certification, active compact or state license, and licensure when applicable. You must reside >75 miles away.

Description

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with fresh heart experience for a cardiovascular operating room position.

Details

CVOR unit within a hospital surgical services department
13-week assignment with day shift 8-hour schedule (7:00 AM-3:30 PM)
Rotating 36/48 schedule over a two-week pay period (one week 3x12, next week 4x12), totaling 84 hours per two weeks
On-call required, approximately 2 days per week, every other week
Every other weekend required
Float required within scope of practice

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years current and previous experience as a Cardiovascular Scrub Tech required
Fresh Heart experience required
AHA BLS certification required
NCCT or AST certification required
License required if applicable
Active Compact or State License in hand required at time of submission
Valid Driver's License required, address must match permanent address
Two professional references required: one Charge or Higher and one Supervisor, both completed within the last year
Copy of certifications required for consideration
Teaching Hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred

Additional Information

Perform scrub duties for cardiovascular procedures including CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, VAD, and aortic aneurysm repairs
Support vascular procedures such as carotid endarterectomy, femoral popliteal bypass, and EVAR/TEVAR cases
Maintain aseptic technique, instrument processing, and sterilization standards
Participate in Universal Protocol (time out) procedures and specimen handling
Adhere to isolation precautions, PPE, and radiation/laser safety protocols
Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
Up to 7 days of RTO considered if presented upfront with no changes accepted
Must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
Travel pairs accepted on a limited basis; pairs will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
Travelers may only apply to one position at a time
Returning travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after completing one year in the system before becoming eligible to return
