Description

American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a CVOR position requiring versatility across multiple surgical specialties.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in an 11-suite CVOR averaging 18 cases per day
• Common cases include CABG, vascular, and lung procedures
• Will work as part of a CVOR team embedded within the general OR, covering ortho, general, ENT, and urology cases when not performing cardiovascular procedures
• Uses Epic EMR
• Day shift schedule of 8s or 10s beginning at 0700, Monday through Friday, consistent week to week
• Call requirement of 10-15 days per month, combination of nights and weekends, with a 15-minute response time
• Holiday call as needed
• No floating outside the OR department

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required
• BLS certification required
• Experience handling open heart procedures and working in a general OR required
• License required if applicable
• Active state or compact (NLC) licensure required for the state of submission; pending licenses not accepted
• Driver's license required at time of consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Perform surgical technologist duties across cardiovascular and general surgical specialties
• Manager and charge nurse present daily, though charge does not take a room assignment
• One week of unit-specific orientation provided
• Scrubs provided
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; refusal to remove nails will result in contract termination
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, verified via driver's license
• Candidates may not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
• PRN employment through outside staffing firms will be considered
