Description

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with Level I Trauma Center experience and NBSTSA certification for a hospital cardiovascular operating room position.

Details

• Hospital CVOR unit performing cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic surgery cases
• Day shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• On‑call requirement of 90‑120 hours within a 6‑week schedule
• Cerner charting system used
• 100% floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Performs procedures including CABG, TAVR, TEVAR, EVAR, VAD, carotid endarterectomy, and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
• Receives pump lines from perfusion and prepares them for cannulation

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of surgical technology experience required
• At least 1 year of Level I Trauma Center experience required
• BLS and NBSTSA certification required
• License required if applicable, must be in hand prior to start date
• SSN and DOB required at time of consideration
• Experience with vascular, thoracic, and cardiovascular surgical cases required
• Skilled in procedures such as atherectomy, carotid endarterectomy, EVAR, femoral popliteal bypass graft, and TEVAR

Additional Information

• First‑time travelers accepted if candidate has Level I Trauma Center experience
• Prior travel experience preferred
• Candidates must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or less can be auto‑approved, additional time requires facility approval
• Local candidates residing in Indiana are accepted at a lower pay package for this position
• Any prior IU Health perm or PRN employee must be separated for 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must take a designated break to reset eligibility, 3 months for out‑of‑state residents and 6 months for in‑state residents
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
