Job summary

Description

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with cardiovascular experience for a 13-week hospital assignment requiring prior travel experience.

Details

• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Call requirements include 2 weeks and 2 weekends within a 6-week period
• Weekday call runs Monday 4:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Weekend call runs Friday 4:00 PM to Monday 6:00 AM
• Cerner charting system preferred

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR experience required within the last 7 years
• BLS certification required
• Must have completed at least 1 previous travel assignment
• Must be able to scrub in for cardiovascular procedures
• Experience with cardiovascular procedures such as CABG, TAVR, VAD, aortic aneurysm repair, angioplasty/stenting, and atherectomy preferred
• Proficient in aseptic technique, instrument processing, sterilization/disinfection, and universal protocol (time out) procedures
• Experience with electrosurgical units, case carts, crash carts, and fiber optic equipment
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Support cardiovascular surgical procedures in a fast-paced CVOR setting
• Maintain sterile fields and assist with instrument and equipment preparation for surgical cases
• Follow strict infection control, radiation safety, and laser safety protocols
• Handle and label specimens according to facility protocol
• Participate in emergency management and fire safety procedures
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per 13-week contract
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Weekly local pay is fully taxable and therefore lower due to additional employer-paid taxes and related costs.
