The position is within a 426-bed facility in a Level II trauma setting, with day shifts, potential for cardiac call, and travel reimbursement. ESL vaccines and compliance are needed for assignment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years CVOR experience (1.5 years for Level I trauma or travel background).
• Travel experience required.
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred.
• Experience with vascular, cardiovascular and thoracic procedures listed in the ad.
• 1 professional reference required.

Responsibilities

• Support CVOR unit in cardiovascular, vascular and thoracic cases.
• Work day shift 7:00 AM–3:30 PM with cardiac call and weekend coverage.
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation.
• Collaborate with Yale New Haven Health System facilities and maintain compliance with vaccines.

Job description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a CVOR position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring BLS, CST certification, and cardiovascular/vascular surgical experience.

Requirements

• BLS and CST certification required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required (1.5 years considered for candidates with Level I trauma or travel experience)
• Travel experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Experience with vascular procedures such as AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, EVAR, and femoral popliteal bypass
• Experience with cardiovascular procedures such as CABG, valve replacement, TAVR, and VAD
• Experience with thoracic procedures such as VATS, thoracotomy, and mediastinoscopy
• Trauma case experience including gunshot/stab wounds and MVA preferred
• 1 professional reference required
• License required if applicable

Responsibilities

• Short term acute care hospital setting with 426 staffed beds
• CVOR unit supporting cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic surgical cases
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
• Cardiac call and weekend coverage required
• Uses Epic charting system
• Part of Yale New Haven Health System with free parking
• Participate in complex cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic surgical cases within a CVOR setting
• Support trauma and transplant surgical cases as needed
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• Local candidates not accepted if residing within 75 miles of the facility
• Former staff must be separated from employment for at least 2 years to be eligible to return as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet experience requirements
