Responsibilities

• Hospital Surgical Services unit supporting a wide range of procedures
• Patient population spans neonate through geriatric
• Experience needed in ortho (total joints), general surgery, OB/GYN, eyes, and urology
• Day shift schedule from 6:30am to 5:00pm, four 10-hour days per week
• Call required per unit, approximately 7 days per 6 weeks, some including weekends
• Assist the surgical team during the intra-operative period, focusing on preparation and handling of instrumentation and equipment
• Apply equipment and care techniques appropriate to patient age, from neonate through geriatric
• Maintain aseptic technique throughout all surgical duties to ensure positive patient outcomes
• Responsible for the care, preparation, handling, and maintenance of surgical instrumentation
• Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy and procedure
• Demonstrate ability to adapt and problem-solve in dynamic surgical situations
• Recognize and respond promptly to urgent or emergency situations
