Responsibilities

• Hospital surgical services department supporting ortho, general, vascular, urology and thoracic procedures.
• Day shift 06:30–15:00, 5 days per week, 40 hours weekly.
• Call requirements include 1 night per week and every 4th weekend.
• Care for patients across the lifespan from neonate through geriatric.
• Assist the surgical team during the intra-operative period, focusing on instrumentation and equipment handling.
• Prepare, handle and maintain surgical instrumentation to support positive patient outcomes.
• Perform sponge, sharps and instrument counts per policy.
• Recognize and respond to urgent or emergency situations during procedures.
• Apply knowledge of patient age and needs when administering care and operating equipment.
• Demonstrate adherence to professional standards of practice in all patient and family interactions.
