American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a 13-week contract in a busy hospital operating room. The role requires 2+ years of scrub or circulating experience and CST certification, with state licensure if applicable.

The schedule is Friday–Sunday, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM, in a 14-OR unit with two heart rooms (one hybrid). The position uses Meditech EMR and robotics equipment (Xi, SP, Mako, DV5) for general, gyn, neuro, ortho, plastics, vascular, ENT and urology cases.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of scrub or circulating experience
• CST certification is required, State license if applicable
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted, not expiring within 30 days)

Responsibilities

• 13-week contract in a hospital OR with 14 ORs including 2 heart rooms (one hybrid)
• Friday–Sunday schedule, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• No on-call required
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Uses surgical equipment including robotics (Xi, SP, Mako, DV5)
• Meditech EMR
• Procedures include General, GYN, Neuro, Ortho, Plastics, Vascular, ENT, Urology
• Supports trauma, ortho trauma, vascular, neuro, and robotics cases
• Team includes 1 charge, 16 RNs, 16 Techs on day shift; anesthesia staff also on duty
• Night shift with 2 RNs and 2 Techs
• Scrub color provided (Ciel Blue)
• Unit has 3x Unit of Distinction awards
• Flexible, positive attitude for team fit
• Must reside outside 50-mile radius; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of scrub or circulating experience required


• CST certification required; State license required if applicable


• BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted, must not expire within first 30 days of start)


• Robotics, Neuro, Ortho, or Trauma experience preferred


• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months


• US SSN and DOB required for consideration


• One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri placements)

Responsibilities

• 13-week contract assignment in a hospital Operating Room/Surgery unit with 14 ORs, including 2 heart rooms (one doubling as a Hybrid room)


• Friday-Sunday schedule, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM


• No on-call required


• 1:1 patient ratios


• Uses surgical equipment including robotics (Xi, SP, Mako, DV5)

• Typical procedures include General, GYN, Neuro, Ortho, Plastics, Vascular, ENT, and Urology cases


• Supports general trauma, ortho trauma, vascular, neuro, and robotics cases as part of daily responsibilities


• Team includes 1 charge, 16 RNs, and 16 Techs on day shift, with Anesthesia Techs and Attendants also on staff


• Night shift staffed with 2 RNs and 2 Techs


• Scrub color is Ciel Blue and will be provided
