Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Operating Room Surgical Tech experience required.
• Level II trauma experience required; general OR and trauma experience mandatory.
• Ambulatory OR and community hospital experience preferred.
• CST and BLS certifications required.
• Vascular, neuro, podiatry, uro, robotic and trauma procedures experience expected.
• Experience with case carts, crash carts, electrosurgical units and fiber-optic equipment.
• Aseptic technique and sterile-field practices essential; laser/radiation safety knowledge helpful.
• Universal Protocol/time-out, wound care and specimen handling familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Hospital setting with an 8-room OR serving adult and geriatric patients.
• 13-week assignment with day shift hours (8-hour shifts, approx 11:00am-7:30pm).
• Block scheduling accommodated; on-call coverage required.
• Epic charting system used; scrubs provided by facility.
• First-time travelers accepted; orientation ~8 hours.
• Supports a broad range of service lines including vascular, neuro, urology, robotics and trauma.

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with 2+ years of Level II trauma OR experience for a hospital surgical services position.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room Surgical Tech experience required
• Level II trauma experience required
• General OR and trauma experience required
• Ambulatory OR and community hospital experience preferred
• CST certification required
• BLS certification required
• Vascular experience required, including carotid procedures, AV fistula repair, endovascular aneurysm repair and femoral-popliteal bypass
• General Surgery experience required, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, liver resection and mastectomy
• Neuro experience required, including cervical and lumbar spine procedures, craniotomy, VP shunts and laminectomy/discectomy
• Podiatry experience required, including ankle fusion, bunionectomy and metatarsal procedures
• Robotic experience required, including colorectal, GI, GYN and urologic robotic procedures
• Urology experience required, including cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, TURP and ureteroscopy
• Trauma experience including amputations, gunshot/stab wounds and multiple-injury MVA cases
• Additional experience required in GYN, oral/maxillofacial and orthopedic procedures
• Experience with case carts, crash carts and multiple drill systems
• Experience with electrosurgical units and fiber-optic equipment
• Proficiency in aseptic technique and sterile-field practices
• Knowledge of laser and radiation safety
• Experience with specimen handling and labeling
• Knowledge of sterilization and disinfection procedures
• Experience with Universal Protocol/time-out procedures
• Wound care and dressing change experience
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration
• License required if applicable

• Supports general and specialty surgical procedures across multiple service lines including vascular, neuro, urology, robotics and trauma
