Active driver’s license and US SSN are needed for consideration. The role includes 7a-5:30p day shifts with 4x10-hour shifts, on-call duties, and travel-friendly requirements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Hospital setting with 6 ORs and 99 beds.
• 1:1 patient ratio; day shift 7:00–17:30; 4x10-hr shifts.
• Pass instruments and manage sterile field during surgeries.
• Prepare OR, equipment, supplies, and solutions.
• Assist surgeon by passing instruments and fluids as needed.
• Handle specimens and ensure counts to prevent retained objects.
• On-call requirements include weekdays and weekend rotation.

Job description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital OR position requiring 2+ years of experience across multiple surgical specialties.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required
• BLS certification required
• License required if applicable
• Experience required in general, ortho, OBGYN, podiatry, urology, plastics, endo, trauma, and robotics (DaVinci) surgeries
• CST certification through NBSTSA following completion of a CAAHEP-accredited program
• Active driver's license required for consideration
• US Social Security Number required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment

Responsibilities

• Hospital setting with 6 operating rooms and 99 total beds
• Monthly department volume of 250-300 procedures
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Adult and pediatric patient population
• Day shift schedule, 7a-5:30p, 4x10hr shifts
• Call required including at least 1 weekday per week and weekend rotation
• On-call hours are Monday-Friday 1530-0700 and Saturday-Sunday 0700-0700
• Uses MedHost EMR for inpatient records and PICIS for OR documentation
• Prepare the operating room including the sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions
• Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon during surgery
• Manage the sterile field and specimens throughout procedures
• Perform counts of sponges and supplies to prevent retained foreign objects
• Hospital scrubs provided
• Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers, which can take several weeks to process
• RTO requests must be less than 1 week
• Candidates who worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years will not be considered
• No local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered
