Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Level II Trauma Center in Connecticut. This role requires robotics and orthopedic total joint experience, along with exposure to cardiac cases within a large academic health system.

The position features an evening shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM) with weekends and on-call duties. Travel experience and CST certification are required; NBSTSA and Epic charting skills are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Short-term acute care hospital setting within a large health system.
• Level II Trauma Center operations.
• 426 staffed beds.
• Evening shift, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM.
• Weekend work required.
• On-call duties as needed for the department.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Perform surgical technologist duties across specialties including vascular, orthopedic, neurosurgery, general surgery, urology, and robotics procedures.
• Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and robotic-assisted cases preferred.
• Exposure to trauma cases including amputations, burns, and gunshot/stab wounds.
• Maintain aseptic technique, isolation precautions, and PPE standards.
• Participate in Universal Protocol (time out) procedures.
• Free parking available on-site.
• Facility is part of a large academic health system.
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted.
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with exemptions only for religious or medical reasons.
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler.
• RTO of up to 7 days may be auto-approved.
• Local candidates not accepted if residing within 75 miles of the facility.
