Job summary

Pearce is a leading technology-enabled provider of asset management solutions for mission-critical electromechanical infrastructure in North America. This Solar Field Service Technician III role focuses on utility-scale solar farms, handling troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of ground-mount systems and inverters while ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The position requires 4–5+ years in utility-scale solar and on-site leadership experience, with 100% travel to site

Qualifications

• 4-5+ years of utility-scale solar experience.
• Experience leading crews or acting as lead tech on-site.
• Experience working on megawatt-scale PV systems.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills (inverters, DC systems, power electronics).
• Experience with Solar O&M / maintenance work.
• Working knowledge of OSHA / NFPA 70E safety standards.
• Experience using testing equipment (multimeters, megger, amp clamps).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair utility-scale solar systems, including inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits.
• Perform testing: LOTO, IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, IR scans.
• Assign work, track progress, and keep jobs on schedule.
• Perform O&M on utility-scale solar plants.
• Inspect completed work and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Enforce OSHA and NFPA 70E on-site.
• Diagnose system issues and resolve them in the field.
• Complete work orders, service logs, and required documentation.
• Operate and maintain company vehicle and tools.
• Train and support junior technicians in the field.
