American Traveler is hiring an experienced Step Down RN for a night shift position in Missouri. The role requires Trauma Level II experience, vasopressor titration skills, and recent bedside work within the last 6 months.

The nurse will work 7:00 PM–7:30 AM on a 3x12 schedule in a 1:4 step-down unit, with two weekends every other weekend and no on-call. Epic charting is preferred, and travel experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Active MO or compact RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience including bedside in last 6 months.
• Trauma Level II hospital experience required.
• Some ICU/high-acuity stepdown experience required due to unit acuity.
• Recent travel assignment experience within last 6 months.
• Experience with titration of vasopressors, sedation meds, and insulin drips.
• Experience managing trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes.
• Epic charting experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM).
• Step Down unit with 1:4 patient ratios.
• Floating to lower acuity floors within scope.
• 2 weekend shifts every other weekend (Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun).
• No on-call requirements.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Care for high-acuity stepdown patients (cardiac, neuro, renal, resp).
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs; blood products.
• Perform IV insulin protocols, wound care, isolation precautions.
• Monitor telemetry and respond to dysrhythmias with rapid response.

• Provide care for high-acuity stepdown patients including cardiac, neurological, renal, and respiratory conditions
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral IVs as well as blood product administration
• Perform IV insulin protocols, wound care, and isolation precautions
• Monitor telemetry and respond to dysrhythmias with rapid response/code team support
• Navy scrubs required
• No parking costs at this facility
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
• Previous permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers completing an 18-month assignment must take a 3-month break in service before returning
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
