Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Stepdown unit with 1–2 years of acute care PCU/stepdown experience. MN RN license and BLS are required; ACLS preferred.

Travel nursing background is favored unless extensive hospital experience. Epic/Excellian charting is required, with on-call and night shifts in a 32-bed Level 4 trauma facility. Navy blue scrubs, limited floating, and distance residency requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Active MN RN license required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 years of strong acute care Stepdown/PCU experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience required unless candidate has extensive hospital background.
• Epic/Excellian charting experience required.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and blood product administration preferred.
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management and tracheostomy care preferred.
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Step down unit within a short term acute care hospital.
• Patient ratios: 1:4 on days, 1:5 on nights, and 1:4-5 on weekends.
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30).
• Every other weekend required.
• On-call requirement of up to 3 shifts of 12 hours.
• No floating required within scope.
• Uses Nihon Kohden cardiac monitors/telemetry and Welch Allyn bedside vitals machines.
• Utilizes HiFlow/CPAP/BiPAP equipment.
• Must be able to work Med/Surg, SCU, and occasionally care for pediatric patients.
• Epic/Excellian EMR.
• Level 4 Trauma facility with 32 total staffed beds.
• Navy blue scrubs required.
• Candidates may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital if needed.
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered.
• Returning travelers must have been gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked as perm staff or per diem.
• RTO should not exceed 5 days.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position.
