Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN to care for acutely ill adult and geriatric patients requiring telemetry monitoring. At least 1 year of RN experience and IL license are required. The role is based in Illinois with travel accommodations, free parking, housing allowance, and travel reimbursements.

Day shift 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 3x12s, no weekends or call requirements. Strong skills in EKG rhythm interpretation, IV therapy, wound care, and neuro assessments for AIS/TIA are preferred;

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required at time of submission.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; CPI preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required.
• Experience with EKG rhythm identification and non-titrating cardiac drips required.
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration.
• Experience with oxygen administration and respiratory support preferred.
• Knowledge of heparin protocols and management of cardiac/vasoactive drips without titration.
• Neurological assessment skills for AIS/TIA patients.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Acute Medical Unit with Medical and Telemetry patients.
• Unit has 24 beds with an average daily census of 16-18.
• Night shift staffing ratio of 1:5.
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics.
• Care involves general medicine/surgical or infectious disease patients requiring non-acute cardiac telemetry monitoring.
• Includes advanced medication infusion management without increasing titration; weaning allowed.
• Excludes high-acuity meds and unstable conditions.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Floating required within service line and scope.
• Epic charting preferred.
• Provide care for acutely ill adult and geriatric patients with general medicine/surgical or infectious disease diagnoses.
• Perform pre- and post-procedure evaluation and care.
• Conduct neurological assessment and care for AIS/TIA patients.

• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
• Experience with EKG rhythm identification and non-titrating cardiac drips required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with oxygen administration and respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC) preferred
• Knowledge of heparin protocols and management of cardiac/vasoactive drips without titration
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and IV insulin protocols preferred
• Neurological assessment skills for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and TIA patients
• Must not have been a permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employee within the past year

• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• No weekend or call requirements
• Floating required within service line and scope
• Epic charting preferred
• Provide care for acutely ill adult and geriatric patients with general medicine/surgical or infectious disease diagnoses
• Perform pre- and post-procedure evaluation and care
• Conduct neurological assessment and care for AIS/TIA patients
• Navy scrubs required
• Free parking available on-site
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius; no local candidates accepted
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
• Standard travelers may stay up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
