Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit. Active OH or Compact RN license and telemetry competency are required, with the license obtained before the contract start date if not in hand.

The role features a 4x12-hour night schedule (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with EPIC EMR experience and traveler benefits, including housing allowances and weekly payroll. Open to non-local candidates willing to relocate for the assignment.

Qualifications

• Must have active RN license (OH or Compact).
• Telemetry competency assessment required prior to start.
• Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit within a hospital setting.
• Work night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (4x12-hour shifts).
• Maintain EPIC EMR documentation and workflows.
• Work every other weekend and every other holiday.
• May float to other units as needed; travelers floated first at facility discretion.
• Winter contract options of 13 or 18 weeks available.
• Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to census.

Requirements

• Active RN license (OH or Compact) required, though license in hand is not required to apply as long as it is obtained before the contract start date
• Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting the assignment
• Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Progressive Care (Stepdown) Unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 4x12-hour schedule (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• May float to other units within specialty cluster or to support the High Risk Respiratory/COVID unit, with travelers floated first at facility discretion
• Winter contract options of 13 or 18 weeks available
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
