Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night-shift step-down unit in Missouri, requiring stroke and post cardiac cath experience and an active MO license.

The role features a 3x12 hour night schedule (1900-0730), a 1:4-6 patient ratio, and Epic charting. You will care for stroke, neuro/spine, post-cath and other adult patients, with travel housing and licensure support provided.

Qualifications

• Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence).
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry/step-down experience required.
• Experience caring for stroke, neuro/spine, and post cardiac cath patients required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Skilled in cardiac drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation, wound care, and central/PICC line management.

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care hospital with 110 staffed beds.
• Cares for adult and geriatric patients including stroke, neuro/spine, post cardiac cath, general surgery, wound care, diabetic, and medical COVID cases.
• Average daily census of 16 with a 1:4-6 patient ratio.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 1900-0730.
• Every other weekend required.
• Required to float between Progress West and St. Peters facilities as needed within service line.
• Uses Epic for charting.
• Monitor and respond to cardiac telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and utilize rapid response/code teams as needed.
• Provide respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care.
• Perform IV therapy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line management.
• Navy scrub color required.
• Free parking provided onsite.
• Initial orientation may occur outside of standard contract shift hours.
• First-time travelers with required unit experience will be considered.
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility.
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment.
• Permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• Standard travelers may work up to 18 months before requiring a 3-month break in service.
