Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit in Washington, DC. DC license required; 2 years of cardiac telemetry and general RN experience expected.

Cerner EMR experience, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certs, NLN-approved program graduate; BSN preferred. 3x12 hour shifts, 36 hours weekly for 13 weeks; references from recent employers.

Qualifications

• Active DC RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA only).
• 2 years of RN experience required.
• 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience required.
• Cerner experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required.
• BSN highly desired.
• Two manager or supervisor references required, verifying experience within the last 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 48-bed cardiac focused stepdown unit with 4 pulmonary care beds and 10 cardiac surgery beds (cardiac surgery beds not required).
• 3x12 hour shifts on an AM/PM rotation.
• 36 hours per week over a 13-week assignment.
• Frequent IV drips include Heparin, Milrinone, Lasix, and Bumex.
• Common diagnoses include CHF, NSTEMI, arrhythmias, and vascular surgery cases.
• Cerner EMR used.
• Provide nursing care to cardiac stepdown and progressive care patients.
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility.
