Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Missouri. Requires 1 year of recent PCU experience and a MO or Compact RN license. OTA license in hand, BLS/ACLS certs, and ability to handle cardiac monitoring are essential.

The role includes 3×12 hours night shifts (19:00–07:30), a 13-week contract, potential floating to MS/ICU, and travel housing/ licensure reimbursements. Cerner experience preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience required in the specialty
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs

Responsibilities

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/DOU/IMC/Stepdown setting within a hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• 13-week assignment length
• Cerner charting system preferred but not required
• Mandatory floating to Medical-Surgical (MS) or ICU units, including duties as a Patient Observer/Sitter
• Cardiac monitoring and telemetry responsibilities on the unit
• Provide comprehensive care to stepdown/progressive care patients including cardiac, respiratory, and renal management
• Work in a healthcare facility operating 24/7, 365 days a year
• Rotating shifts required, including holidays and during inclement weather
• Required to work at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
• Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses is routine
• Maximum RTO of 10 days permitted, with none allowed during the first week due to orientation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for consideration
• Candidates residing 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate
