American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown Neuro RN for a night shift, requiring an active TN or compact RN license and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience. Epic EMR proficiency is required, with fluency in IV therapy, line care, BiPAP/CPAP, and cardiovascular monitoring.

The role is in the Neuro/Surgical Telemetry Stepdown unit with a 1:4-5 patient ratio, 3x12 hour nights, and weekends on a 4-week rotation. Travel experience is preferred, and housing/travel reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active Tennessee or compact RN license in hand.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Epic EMR experience within the last 18 months; must be listed on profile.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Neuro/Surgical Telemetry Stepdown unit of a hospital.
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5; three weekend shifts per four-week schedule.
• May float to other MS/Telemetry units or low-acuity ICU.
• Provide stepdown-level nursing care to neuro/surgical telemetry patients.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Flu vaccine during flu season (11/1-3/31) with no declinations or exemptions accepted.
• Local candidates and first-time travelers accepted.
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown Neuro RN for a night shift position requiring active TN or compact RN license and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience.

Requirements

• Active Tennessee or compact RN license in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum of 1 year Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience required
• Epic experience within the last 18 months required and must be detailed on profile
• Must pass on-site Epic competency test-out
• Travel experience highly preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, PICC line management, and phlebotomy
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation
• Neurological care experience including CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and spinal cord injury
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Wound care and isolation precaution/PPE skills
• Must be clean-shaven if fit testing is required
