Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Stepdown RN with 2+ years of ICU or stepdown experience for a hospital unit requiring SC or compact RN licensure.

This travel assignment features a 12-bed unit, 7a-7p days, 3x12-hour shifts, every other weekend, and on-site parking. Housing allowance, travel and licensure reimbursements, and non-taxed per diem are included.

Qualifications

• Active SC RN license or compact license in hand prior to start.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU and/or Stepdown nursing experience required.
• SSN required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Stepdown unit within a 12-bed hospital setting.
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 7a-7p.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call requirements.
• Floating required within scope to sister units/facilities, with agency staff floated first.
• Provide stepdown-level nursing care including cardiac telemetry, neuro stepdown, and respiratory management.
• Experience with ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, and arterial lines is beneficial.
• Familiarity with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response protocols is valued.
• Holiday rotation required.
• Free parking available on-site.
• Local candidates not accepted; 60-mile radius rule applies with non-local candidates prioritized.

• Familiarity with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response protocols is valued
• Scrub color is royal blue
• Holiday rotation required
• Free parking available on-site
• First-time travelers considered if they have prior ICU or Stepdown experience
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates not accepted; 60-mile radius rule applies with non-local candidates prioritized
• All requested time off must be submitted in advance and is subject to facility approval
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• Staff may be required to support emergency response efforts during hurricane season (June-November)
