Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown float pool position requiring PCU/SDU experience and the ability to float to medical/surgical floors as needed.

The role offers a day shift (3x12 hours), with a 1:3 to 1:5 patient ratio and every second weekend rotation. Local candidates within 50 miles are considered at local rates; NIHSS is preferred and Epic EMR experience is required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (IN or Compact).
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS (NIHSS preferred).
• ASN required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• PCU and SDU experience required.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, line care, PICC line management and blood product administration.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia and telemetry (on-unit and remote).
• Neurological care including CVA, intracranial bleeds, seizures and TBI.
• Respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy management.
• Driver’s license required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Stepdown float pool role with potential to float to medical/surgical units as needed.
• Patient ratio of 1:3 to 5.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Every second weekend rotation required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide stepdown-level care with flexibility to float to medical/surgical floors based on facility needs.
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius.
• Consideration for first-time travelers depends on experience level.
• Pending state licenses not accepted.
