Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Telemetry RN with 2+ years of pediatric cardiac stepdown experience. OH or compact RN license is required. The role involves caring for patients with complex cardiac/respiratory needs in a Pediatric Telemetry unit.

The assignment is 13 weeks with day or night shifts (3x12 hours) and rotating schedule. Travel nursing experience is required, with accommodations and per diem details provided by the agency.

Qualifications

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years pediatric hospital experience
• Minimum 2 years pediatric cardiac stepdown experience
• Prior travel nursing experience
• IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and administration of blood/blood products
• Respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and ventilator management
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and post cardiac catheterization care
• NG tube insertion/management, wound care, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Pediatric dosage calculations and emergency/antiarrhythmic meds
• Two supervisor/manager references required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Cares for Pediatric Telemetry patients with cardiac defects.
• Care for patients with trachs/vents and post-op needs.
• 13-week assignment.
• Day shift 7:00-19:30 or Night shift 19:00-7:00, 3x12-hour shifts.
• Day/night rotation on a 6-week interval schedule.
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating to other units as needed.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric cardiac/respiratory patients.
• Former staff may reapply after 2 years.

• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and ventilator management
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and post cardiac catheterization care
• Skilled in NG tube insertion/management, wound assessment/care, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Proficient in pediatric dosage calculations and administration of emergency and antiarrhythmic medications
• Two supervisor/manager-titled references required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Pediatric Telemetry unit caring for patients with cardiac defects requiring medical and surgical management
• Cares for patients with trachs/vents, high flow nasal cannula, post-op cath, post-op CTICU, inotropes, and heart/lung transplant needs
• 13-week assignment
• Day shift (7:00-19:30) or Night shift (19:00-7:00), 3x12-hour shifts
• Day/night rotation on a 6-week interval schedule
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units required based on assignment needs
• Epic charting system experience required
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients with complex cardiac and respiratory conditions
• Candidates who previously worked permanently at this facility must wait at least 2 years before reapplying
• Local candidates are not accepted; a 60-mile radius rule applies
• No call/no-show policy strictly enforced
• Agency changes upon extension must occur at least 3 weeks before the current contract ends
