Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a 13-week day shift assignment. The nurse should have at least 3 years of recent telemetry experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Requirements include CA RN license in-hand, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, CPI Blue Card, travel nursing experience, and two supervisor references. Responsibilities include 1:4 patient ratio, 3x12 shifts, and floating between units.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license in-hand (EMSA not accepted).
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS in-hand.
• CPI Blue Card required for ER/Float Pool nurses.

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
• Maintain 1:4 patient ratio on days/nights/weekends.
• Provide telemetry nursing care: cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV therapy.
• Respiratory care: BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen, tracheostomy care.
• Manage central/PICC lines and blood products.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN with at least 3 years of experience and Epic charting proficiency for a 13-week day shift assignment.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in-hand (EMSA not accepted)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required in-hand
• CPI Blue Card from the Crisis Prevention Institute required for ER and Float Pool nurses (online or MAB certification not accepted)
• Minimum 3 years of recent experience required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• At least 1 year of full-time equivalent experience in telemetry within the past 2 years
• Epic charting experience required and must be documented in work history
• Two supervisor references required
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit caring for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4 across days, nights, and weekends
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 0700-1930
• Floating required
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and IV therapy
• Perform respiratory care such as BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration
• Care for patients with renal, neurological, and gastrointestinal conditions
• Scrubs not provided; any color accepted
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Candidates must be gone a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler following prior employment at the facility
• No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract preferred
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
