American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit on a night shift. Requires 1.5+ years of RN experience and NC or Compact licensure. The team uses Meditech EMR and a 22-bed unit with adult/geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide telemetry nursing care in a Med/Surg overflow unit
• Care for 22-bed unit with adult and geriatric patients
• Maintain patient ratios of 5:1 or 6:1
• Manage care for CHF, chest pain, ARF, COPD, diabetes, CKD, post-cardiac cath patients
• Night shift 7:00 PM–7:00 AM with every-other or every-3rd weekend
• Floating to other units as needed
• No call requirements and use of Meditech EMR

Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position on a night shift schedule requiring 1.5+ years of experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Work in the Telemetry unit as part of Med/Surg overflow coverage
• 22-bed unit with adult and geriatric patient population
• Patient ratios of 5:1 or 6:1
• Common diagnoses include CHF, chest pain, ARF, COPD, uncontrolled diabetes, CKD, and post cardiac cath care
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirement of every other or every third weekend (12-hour shifts)
• Floating required to other units
• No call requirements
• Uses Welch Allyn V/S machine, Hoyer lift with weight scale, Abbott glucometer, computers on wheels, TR band, and Baxter IV pumps
• Meditech EMR used; prior experience preferred
• Provide telemetry nursing care within a Med/Surg overflow unit under the supervision of a Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse
• Team-oriented and flexible personality fit preferred
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule with upcoming start dates
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate; candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Permanent residence cannot be within 60 miles of the facility to be considered a traveler
• Candidates cannot have worked permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
