Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Care for patients on Cardiac Telemetry unit including chest pain, NSTEMI/STEMI, post-AMI care, arrhythmia management, and post-cardiac cath/angiogram care.
• Work night shift: 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15.
• Maintain patient ratio of 1:5 and provide holiday coverage.
• Floating within facility as needed and chart in Epic.
• Ensure completion of required certifications for consideration.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of unit-specific experience and prior travel assignment history.

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA state or Compact) required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skills in telemetry monitoring, IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management preferred
• Experience with high flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care preferred
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips; titration experience preferred
• Copies of required certifications needed for consideration

Responsibilities

• Cardiac Telemetry unit caring for patients with chest pain, NSTEMI/STEMI, left/right heart cath, TEE, cardioversions, stress tests, pacemakers, AMI, Afib, CHF, bradycardia, AICD insertion, and SVT/tachycardia
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Epic charting system preferred
• Provide cardiac telemetry nursing care including monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and post cardiac cath/angiogram care
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this unit
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (one holiday worked if one or two fall during assignment, two holidays worked if three fall during assignment)
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of consideration
• No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Previous permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who were previously cancelled or deemed unable to return must complete one successful assignment at another facility before reapplying
• Shift and contract length are firm with no alternate schedule requests permitted
• Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift on the same unit
