Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN-Telemetry nurse for a night shift assignment in Massachusetts. The candidate must hold an active MA RN license, BLS, and have at least 3 years of RN experience with travel nursing background.

Responsibilities include telemetry care in a hospital setting, potential floating to med/surg/telemetry units, and completion of orientation modules. Union facility with 7-day coverage. Local candidates within 200 miles welcomed.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN-Telemetry with prior travel experience and 3+ years of tele/med-surg nursing background for a night shift assignment.

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), renal failure, and TURP care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with total joint replacement and orthopedic post-surgical care
• 2 references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes surgical, orthopedic, SBO, urology/CBI, and diverticulitis cases
• Night shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts (23:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend/holiday required
• May float to other Med Surg/Telemetry units as needed
• Uses Epic for charting
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
• Provide telemetry-level nursing care across a mixed medical/surgical patient population
• Complete facility-required Pass/Fail EKG and medication competency tests during orientation, with limited attempts to pass
• Complete pre-start and orientation modules as assigned by the facility
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
• First-time travelers are not considered due to the travel experience requirement
