Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN for a Med/Surg-Cardiac unit in Michigan. The role requires at least 1 year of recent nursing experience and an active Michigan RN license. Cerner charting is preferred, with strong IV, respiratory, and cardiac monitoring skills.

The night shift runs 19:00–07:30 with a patient ratio of 1:5. Travel eligibility applies for those living more than 50 miles away. Housing allowance, weekly pay, and other travel benefits are provided.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Med/Surg-Cardiac unit requiring at least 1 year of experience and a Michigan RN license.

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Respiratory skills required including BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team utilization required
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) required
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and feeding tube management required
• Charge experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg-Cardiac Telemetry unit
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Cares for cardiac telemetry, CVA, seizure disorder, and substance withdrawal patients
• Uses Cerner Powerchart for charting
• Floating required based on facility census and staffing needs
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel assignment
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted, and candidates requesting holiday RTO must be willing to work one of the three major holidays
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least three years before returning as a traveler
• Facility maintains strict professional conduct standards, and unprofessional behavior, attendance issues, or shift call-offs may result in immediate contract termination
• Required modules must be completed within the first week of the assignment
• First-time travelers will be considered
