American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a fast-paced 23-bed medical-surgical unit in Kentucky. Requires 2 years of nursing experience, active KY license or compact and BLS certification.

Responsibilities include night shifts (3x12), float to affiliated units, and care for orthopedic, spine, general surgery, and bariatric patients with cardiac monitoring capabilities.

Qualifications

• Active KY State or Compact RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• 2 years of relevant nursing experience required.
• First-time travelers require several years of orthopedic/GI post-op care.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and telemetry.
• IV therapy, line care, PICC management, blood products.
• Respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, cannula, tracheostomy.
• Wound care, PPE and isolation precautions.
• Surgical drains, nerve block catheters, joint replacement care.
• Must pass an EKG exam during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Care for a 23-bed med-surg unit including ortho/spine/general surgery/bariatric patients.
• Unit handles 10–20 post-op admissions daily; occasional overflow.
• Unit has cardiac and O2 monitoring capabilities.
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30.
• Float to other units or affiliate hospital as needed.
• Provide post-surgical and medical-surgical care in a fast-paced setting.

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a fast-paced 23-bed medical surgical unit requiring 2 years of relevant experience and cardiac monitoring skills.

Requirements

• Active KY State or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
• First-time travelers considered only with several years of experience caring for post-op orthopedic and gastrointestinal surgery patients
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry remote monitoring
• Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with surgical drains, peripheral nerve block catheters, and total joint replacement patients
• Must pass an EKG exam during onboarding

Responsibilities

• 23-bed medical surgical unit caring for orthopedic, spine, general surgery, and bariatric patients
• Unit receives 10-20 post-op admissions per day and occasionally overflow from medicine areas
• Unit equipped with cardiac and O2 monitoring capability
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Float to other units within skillset or to an affiliate hospital nearby
• Requires both medical and surgical nursing skillset
• Provide post-surgical and medical-surgical nursing care in a busy, fast-paced environment
• Expected to work 3 of 5 winter holidays
• Local candidates within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Returning permanent staff must be separated from all affiliated facilities for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
• RTO must be disclosed prior to job offer, as time off requested afterward will not be approved
