Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Telemetry RN for a night shift assignment in Kentucky. Candidates should have pre-cardiac cath and port management experience, plus prior travel nursing background. This role supports telemetry care for cardiac and medical-surgical patients, with Epic EMR documentation and a 3x12 night schedule.

Expect 1:5–1:6 patient ratios, 75-mile local candidate radius, generous housing and travel reimbursements, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Active KY or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years telemetry experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with pre/post cardiac cath care and port management required
• Epic EMR experience required
• IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management experience
• Respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy management experience
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation experience
• COVID and flu vaccination required (exemptions only)

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit setting supporting ED boarders awaiting inpatient beds
• May float to Observation Units, MS/Tele, or Neuro Stepdown units across campuses
• Night shift schedule (3x12), 19:00-07:30
• Rotating schedule includes 4 weekend shifts (2 Saturdays, 2 Sundays) plus 3 Mondays and 3 Fridays within a 6-week period
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide telemetry-level nursing care to cardiac and medical-surgical patients
• Support ED boarder patients and float to observation units as census requires
• No RTO between 12/15/2026 and 1/5/2027
• Navy blue scrubs required with no agency or brand logos
• Natural fingernails under 1/4 inch; no nose rings or gauged earrings
• No cafeteria on-site; refrigerator and microwave provided
• Free parking in unrestricted spaces
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at a reduced rate
• Returning staff must be separated from other employment for at least one year before traveler status

• COVID and flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
