American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 54-bed Cardiovascular Telemetry unit on a 13-week assignment in Michigan. Active MI RN license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, and 1 year telemetry experience are required. Cerner PowerChart experience is preferred.

The role includes 4x12 hour day shifts, patient ratios of 1:5-6, and required on-call coverage during holidays. The candidate will monitor patients, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips, with potential overflow patient

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry unit position requiring MI licensure and 1 year of telemetry experience.

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Must be comfortable with high patient ratios (1:5-7)
• Nursys background review required prior to consideration

Responsibilities

• 13-week assignment on a 54-bed Cardiovascular Telemetry unit
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours (0700-1930)
• Patient ratios typically 1:5-6, up to 1:7 during call-ins
• Patient population includes heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke, cardiac arrhythmias, and chest pain, with possible medical overflow patients
• Patients monitored via remote telemetry and on-unit monitoring, including those on cardiac drips
• May take overflow medical patients as needed
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• No call requirements
• Uses Cerner PowerChart for charting
• Required to float based on facility census and staffing needs
• Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management for telemetry patients
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration required for some skills)
• Perform sheath removal and TR band care as needed
• Support post cardiac catheterization, angiogram, and cardiac surgery patients
• Assist with pacemaker and TAVR patient care as applicable
• Royal blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted
• Candidates requesting holiday RTO must be willing to work one of the three major holidays
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates are not accepted; must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Required to complete onboarding modules within the first week of the assignment
• Facility maintains strict professional conduct standards regarding attendance and behavior
