Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position on day shift in California. You will monitor cardiac patients, interpret dysrhythmias, manage drips, and support neuro and cardiac procedures in a hospital setting.

The role requires a CA RN license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS/CPI or MAB, and at least 3 years of Telemetry plus 6 months travel nurse experience. On-site, 3×12h days, with weekends and on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required.

• Minimum 3 years of RN Telemetry experience.
• Minimum 6 months of travel nursing experience.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Skills in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Experience with IV therapy and phlebotomy.
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips.

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit care in a hospital setting.
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 3x12h.
• Every other weekend and additional weekends as unit needs.
• On-call as needed.
• Possible float to Summit or Herrick campuses; shuttle provided.
• Use Epic charting system for patient records.
• Provide telemetry monitoring for cardiac and neuro patients.
• Support procedures including cardiac cath, surgery, and CVA care.
• Manage wound care, feeding tubes, isolation precautions.
• Must reside within 50 miles unless local rate approved.
• Returning staff must have been separated for at least 1 year to return as traveler.
• Holiday coverage and RTO constraints per contract.

• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and phlebotomy
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP and oxygen administration
• Nursys license verification uploaded within the last 2 weeks required for consideration
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Every other weekend required, plus additional weekends based on unit needs
• On-call as needed
• May float to other units within scope of practice, including Summit or Herrick campuses
• Shuttle service provided for floating between campuses
• Epic charting system used
• Provide telemetry monitoring and care for cardiac and neurological patient populations
• Support cardiac and neuro procedures including pre/post cardiac catheterization, cardiac surgery, craniotomy, and CVA care
• Manage wound care, feeding tubes, and isolation precautions as needed
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius unless approved for local rate
• Returning staff must have been separated for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Only 1 holiday RTO request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
