Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an RN for a Senior Behavioral Health Unit on nights in Missouri. The role requires recent gero-psych experience in an acute care hospital and a clean work history with no gaps over the last year.

Applicants must hold an active MO RN license (or compact), BLS, and a de-escalation certification (SAMA or CPI), with willingness to obtain through orientation. Unit is 19 beds, night shift 6:45 PM–7:15 AM, with no call or floating required.

Qualifications

• Active MO RN license or compact license
• BLS certification required
• De-escalation certification required (SAMA or CPI), willingness to obtain through orientation accepted
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in gero psych required
• Recent experience within a Senior Behavioral Health Unit within an acute care hospital setting required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment

Responsibilities

• Senior Behavioral Health Unit (Gero Psych DPU) within an acute care hospital setting
• 19-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:8-10
• Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• No call required
• No floating required
• Uses MedHost EMR
• Provides behavioral health evaluations, care planning, implementation, and documentation for assigned patients
• Assists physicians during examinations and procedures and performs patient tests and medication administration within RN scope of practice
• Promotes patient independence through care goal setting and patient/family education
• Provides support to nursing peers as needed
• Scrubs must be any solid color
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• RTO requests must be less than 1 week
• Not eligible if previously employed as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years
